:-)Ashley Burns is the Manager Grower for Farm 1 at Metrolina's York facility in South Carolina and has dedicated six and a half years with the company.
"What I enjoy most about my job is everything! I love the people, the family, the hard work, the learning, the sunshine, everything," Ashley says. She is the most proud of her work when she gets to see the smiles on people's faces in the stores when they are shopping, and when her team's happy at the beginning and end of their shifts. Ashley says, "I can’t narrow down what I love most about working in the horticulture industry, but I will say growing and nurturing a living organism is therapeutic and spiritual. The love, care and hard work that goes into spreading living beauty is unequaled."
One skill Ashley has developed and continually strengthened while working at Metrolina is her leadership/management, She loves working hard but never ventured into leading and this is a new opportunity that she loves learning. To sum up her work experience in a phrase, Ashley says, "I am in heaven! I LOVE my job!!!!"
Ashley's favorite plant is Sunbeckia, any variety.
